HEALTH AND SOCIAL CARE DIRECTORY
We have produced a Health and Social Care Directory, and hope that it will become a blueprint for similar charities across the country.
This gives information that is useful to all members of the community – whatever their age, from teenagers in need of support and guidance to elderly members of our community needing increasing support.
Dartmouth is a beautiful, and some would say idyllic place to live. But below the surface is a town struggling to come to terms with its ageing population and large proportion of residents. Most of these residents are surviving on low incomes – all in a geographically isolated part of Devon.
Dartmouth Caring is in the front line as a support provider for vulnerable young people and adults – be they elderly or suffering other health issues.
This directory is designed to give information and control back to those in Dartmouth and the surrounding rural villages. Especially to those who feel most bewildered by the demands and problems they face.
We are currently undertaking the work needed to bring the current edition up to date and aim to have the new version ready in 2017. This will be once local health care changes have been agreed and decided. In the mean time the current edition remains a useful source of contacts.
If you know of any organisation that is not in the directory that would be good to include in the new edition please pop in or email Katherine (email@example.com).
Listed in the pages are details for all contacts relating to healthcare, social services, retirement homes and sheltered accommodation. All of which are in the South Hams area. Also included are council contacts for services and telephone numbers for companies who can help with basic issues around the home and elsewhere.
