Dee’s Corner
I am rather stunned that 2016 is nearly over; it does not seem 5 minutes since Alison was saying „goodbye? and we were welcoming new boy Nick as he settled into his role. The time has flown and so much has happened; we go into 2017 with excitement – perhaps we, the hospital beds, outpatients, doctors and pharmacy will have a new location. The charity has also been asked to develop other services, and Nick, David, our Treasurer and I are working through the logistics of these changes to ensure that what is requested is viable for us to develop and conduct. As we move into winter, the weather has already given us a taste of what could be to come; temperatures have dropped significantly, which means that staff and volunteers must stay in close contact with our most vulnerable clients to ensure their well-being.
The need to be alert for those in need is vital and is something that everyone can help to ensure takes place; if you know of any of your neighbours who are in need of help, please let us know. Your vigilance could help to safeguard a vulnerable person this winter. This year we have gone into partnership with the Medical Practice, with the appointment of our first apprentice, Alicia, who is proving to be a great success.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your families a very Happy Christmas and a wonderful New Year, and to thank you all for your continuous support of Dartmouth Caring. I leave you with the personal commitment that we will continue to keep you fully informed of all new developments as plans for the future continue to unfold.
Whatever happens, 2017 promises to be another busy year!
